Our services

  • Birth Doula

We support any type of birth in any environment with compassion, connection, and commitment. As doulas we use our training, education, and knowledge of birth to provide individualized support before, during, and after birth including prenatal education, suggestions to ease labor, massage, emotional support, and support for your partner as well! Every birth can benefit from having a doula. Studies show that women who have the benefit of doula support are less likely to use pain relief medications, less likely to have a cesarean birth, report having a more positive childbirth experience, and a shorter healing time post birth.

  • placenta encapsulation

Replacing hormones that have just been stripped away during birth helps ease the dramatic shift. Replacing these hormones assists in balancing hormones which helps eases the “baby blues” and various other Postpartum disturbances. Milk supply is often established earlier due to the HPL (Human Placental Lactogen) levels being restored. Anemia is lower due to iron levels being replenished, which also helps fight depression, minimize fatigue, improve concentration, and boost energy.. Clients generally report that they feel more emotionally balanced and have plenty of milk for their new baby. Many families who chose to encapsulate their placenta for second, third, fourth and pregnancies beyond, report noticing a substantial difference in their postpartum healing.

  • birth assistant

Birth Assistants are typically chosen by the Midwife and provide just the right amount of support to the midwife you have chosen to support you! Birth assistants attend birth at home and in birth centers or in any setting you desire and together with your Midwife deem safe. Lacy has supported many safe and beautiful outdoor and ‘back porch’ births. You should ask her about them! Birth Assistants must be able to assess vital signs, react calmly and appropriately in an emergency as well as keep up with NRP, CRP, and emergency birth education. Lacy is also trained in Breech Birth and has attended a Breech Birth. We are the extra set of hands a Midwife might need as she attends the birthing mother.

Testimonials

  • Lacy is fantastic!

“Lacy from Your Connected Birth was fantastic! I hired Lacy right around my 33rd week and she was very kind and accommodating throughout the entire process. She customized a package for my family’s needs. From our first meeting I felt surprisingly comfortable, Lacy was a quiet reassuring presence. I ultimately ended up delivering early at 37 weeks, as a result of preeclampsia. Lacy did not miss a beat! She helped, rather guided, my partner and me through an extremely complicated labor and delivery. My partner also appreciated her preparation and support throughout the whole experience. She went the extra mile and worked with my four year old daughter to ensure she felt included, excited, and comfortable for the arrival of our baby boy. I cannot thank Lacy enough for bringing so much love and peace to, what can easily be, an extremely stressful stage of our lives!”

  • “Lacy is so passionate and knowledgeable I’d recommend her to anyone!”

I didn't meet for the first time till I was in active labor as she is the backup doula to the original one I had booked with (my original doula was attending to another mom who went into labor a month before her due date). Lacy was absolutely amazing! She came to our house and immediately started to observe how I was getting through contractions and gave awesome pointers and suggestions to help assist me and even my husband! Lacy was so calm and reassuring during each contraction it really helped keep me calm. When it was time to head to the hospital she rode in the car with us and helped with the final part of transition labor right before delivery. She stayed for 2 hours after the birth to help make sure I was doing well and getting comfortable and helping with my husband and I's new son. Lacy is so passionate and knowledgeable I'd recommend her to anyone!

  • My birth experience was WONDERFUL!

“This is my third birth, first homebirth, and I am so thankful for the blessing of Lacy this go-round!  In my previous births I did not have a doula, and it was a breath of fresh air to have someone trained and in tune with what I may need during the birthing process. Lacy was a calming presence and was a wealth of suggestions when I needed a change of pace to help labor progress.  She looked to me for cues to determine how involved I needed her to be, Lacy reassured me that everything I was feeling was normal and that I could cry if it helped release energy too. It worked!  What a blessing!”
